    The residence of Ervad Hozdar and family is situated at 826,Dastur Meher Rd,in Camp area. This house was built by the great philantropist, Sir Jamshedjee Jeejeebhoy about 175 years ago making it probably the oldest standing structure in the vicinity. Its current inhabitants include Ervad(meaning priest)Adarbad Hozdar, his wife Khorshed, their elder son Ervad Yezdi, his wife Jeroo, younger son Ervad Kaizad and their three dogs. Their bungalow is situated in the premises of the J J Fire Temple compound. Originally the compound extended across the road and included what is presently the J J Garden. The bungalow has a huge verandah with two arches on both sides. There is the ground floor and first floor. The house,like any old time house has spacious rooms with a high ceiling. The compound offers a wonderful sight in the rainy season with greenery all around in the compound. Most of the people who have visited the bungalow are surprised that such greenery exists in the heart of the city.
